Decision
To extend the emotional and perceptual framework of The 12 Aesthetic Zodiac into a repeatable surface-based system, allowing emotional frequency to be translated into pattern, material logic, and tactile rhythm rather than remain spatial or conceptual.
Outcome
A coherent pattern language that carries emotional structure across scale and medium, enabling atmosphere to be expressed through repetition, proportion, and material sensibility—bridging research, spatial application, and cultural use without reliance on representational imagery.
The 12 Aesthetic Pattern Collection extends from The 12 Aesthetic Zodiac, translating each birth month’s emotional essence into a tactile and visual language. Rather than functioning as decorative motifs, the patterns operate as rhythmic structures—articulated through colour relationships, material texture, and symbolic geometry.
Each pattern explores a distinct emotional frequency, ranging from restraint and stillness to expansion and intensity. The collection investigates how atmosphere can be carried beyond space into surface, allowing emotional perception to be expressed through repetition, proportion, and tactile variation.
Conceived as both an applied extension of research and a form of spatial poetry, the collection positions pattern as a medium for inhabiting emotional rhythm—bridging inner experience and external form.
Opportunities for collaboration are considered where there is alignment in intent, across design, cultural, and research-driven contexts. The collection is developed for partners who recognise that pattern, like space, can hold memory, meaning, and transformation through structure rather than excess.
