Design Intent
Shape a substantial private residence around climate, privacy, and family life, using orientation, enclosure, and spatial progression to create comfort within its Middle Eastern setting.
Project Outcome
An award-winning residence where privacy and openness are carefully balanced through the architecture. Controlled transitions, considered proportions, and measured exposure to light create a composed family environment with a strong sense of permanence.
Climate, Privacy, and Permanence
The villa is organised as a gradual transition between protected and more open spaces, allowing privacy to shift naturally as the experience moves deeper into the residence.
Enclosure, openings, and spatial proportions are carefully controlled to moderate light and exposure while maintaining a generous sense of connection between different areas of the home. This layering gives larger spaces intimacy and allows quieter areas to feel protected without becoming isolated.
Materiality and architectural restraint reinforce the sense of permanence, creating a residence that feels grounded in its setting while remaining calm, contemporary, and closely attuned to family life.
